‘Molly Goes to the Beach’ this Summer

Happy Ponies, a brand new series of children’s books aimed at children aged 5 to 7 years old, launched its second instalment this month - ‘Molly Goes to the Beach’.

Inspired by ten real life ponies, the series follows the adventures of Sylvie, Molly, Malt Loaf, Milly, Echo, Crunchy, Minstrel, Gypsy, Malcolm and Fred. The second book focuses on Molly, the miniature Shetland pony, as she takes her first trip to the beach. Molly has to overcome her fears as she rides in a horse trailer for the first time.

The series aims to teach children valuable moral lessons such as courage, loyalty, kindness and friendship. The first book, ‘Sylvie and Friends’, launched earlier this year and featured Sylvie and the ponies receiving a visit from local school children. With Great Aunt Sylvie’s guidance, the younger ponies learnt the art of seeing the world from someone else’s viewpoint as they put their own nerves aside to make sure the children had a nice day.

Self-published author, Gail Yardley, said: “After the first book was so well received, it’s wonderful to be able to launch the second one of the series. We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us this far - the real Molly is very excited too! We’re thoroughly looking forward to getting the next book into production.”

Gail penned the stories from her home on the Isle of Wight, whilst caring for her mother and terminally ill husband. Gail was motivated to capture her observations of the friendly and sometimes mischievous ponies owned by her friend and co-publisher of the series, Nicola Murgatroyd.

‘Molly goes to the Beach’ is now available to buy from various stockist and from the Happy Ponies Amazon shop.
